Myokoji Temple offers a meditation group for practicing silent meditation forms including zazen/shikantaza/shamatha, vipassana, and others. On the last Wednesday of the month we offer a guided meditation such as metta (lovingkindness), karuna (compassion), mudita (sympathetic joy), upekka (equanimity), forgiveness, etc. We intend to create a friendly and safe community to support your effort and intention to practice and cultivate your heartmind (bodhicitta).
This group is open to people of all spiritual traditions who have a genuine interest in learning and practicing meditation. We are a “householder” sangha with ordinary lives. We practice in the less formal “family style” that Kobun Chino Otogawa Roshi encouraged later in his life.
