I'm a professional magician. My recent one man show - Illusions of Depression - highlighted the issues surrounding mental health, depression self-harm and autism. I also teach, and have a particular interest in doing all that I can to help women get into the study and enjoyment of magic, though I am getting a little tired of reminding some magicians that equity is not equality!
I set this page up due to the coronavirus outbreak. One of the things I wanted to do was to help people who are at home without anything to do to occupy themselves, something that can be awful for a persons mental health. I offered some free magic classes and one person asked if they could donate some money. This gave me an idea... I do a lot of work where I run at a loss. This is mostly for small charities who have little disposable income or my 'Magic is for Girls' classes, where I teach all female magic classes at less than cost to try and get more women into the art. Lots of people have told me what a great idea they think this is, which is lovely. But perhaps through Ko-fi people would be able to support the work I'm doing in a small way as well.
