Support to this Ko-Fi will help me to grow my podcast and further the “Roll Call Initiative”, a community that acts as a supplemental support system to those suffering from a mental illness, especially severe depression. The Initiative would have a safe and supportive Discord, where participants would celebrate and comfort each other, as well as regular livestream events where we could gather to watch movies or play games with each other. The “Roll Call Initiative” came about from the idea that some people feel they have no one in the world to care about them – they do now. By agreeing to take part, they would form an accountability network which would require regular check-ins. Literally, I would host a livestream event and go through a rollcall, like a teacher in class, to ensure that everyone is accounted for and more importantly, noticed. If a participant is not able to attend, they would be asked to make note of it in a Discord PM, so that the network would be aware if someone did not check-in. This specifically would be designed for those suffering from such severe depression that not hearing from them would be a cause for alarm. Similar to the AA program, the Roll Call Initiative would eventually grow and become smaller chapters who would look after one another. This is all based around a small podcast, “Reading With Cari” which has been re-branded as “Stories to Fall Asleep To”, a mindfulness podcast series that incorporates ASMR elements to help reduce your stress, relieve your anxiety, and lull you to sleep. Each episode begins with a short, mindfulness meditation breathing exercise to get you relaxed and centered. Then we dive into a short story to encourage your mind to begin a restful sleep. I, Cari Favole, have a Certificate of Accreditation as a Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Practitioner from The Priority Academy, instructed by Graham Nicholls, and am also a professional freelance voice over actress.
