This Puzzle hunt was inspired by (but is in no way connected with) Series 9 of John Finnemore’s Souvenir Program – currently available on BBC Sounds. You do not need to have heard the series in order to solve any of the puzzles – although if you haven’t listened to it yet, I highly recommend you do! For those who are unfamiliar, the six episodes are made of up scenes from the lives of several generations of the same family. While no background information is required for any of the puzzles, in some cases knowing a little bit about the family will certainly give you an extra advantage in terms of knowing where to start, or making sense of any solutions you find. Perhaps more importantly, the puzzles and flavour text do make references to various bits of information which are revealed gradually over the course of the series, and so could be considered to contain spoilers. The characters’ stories are told backwards through time, and are intricately woven together - part of the joy in listening is in making new discoveries about the family members you have already met, and spotting the connections between them all. So if you haven’t listened already, my advice is to go and do that first, so that you can enjoy the full experience spoiler-free. Trust me, you are in for a treat. *CORRECTION* - please note that when initially published - Vanessa's puzzle was missing a vital piece of information: The first of the month was a Tuesday. This has now been corrected -apologies to anyone who had already downloaded the old version!
