Over the course of the three-hour workshop, participants will have the opportunity to learn 3 or 4 songs in a choral context, with support from Ekat, Aleksandra, and Alison, learn about the cultural context of each song, consider pronunciation and musical technique and sing together. We welcome beginner through advanced singers. While sheet music will be provided, you can also learn by listening and singing along. No experience with Polish, Ukrainian, Russian or Belarusian languages required. Space is limited, so please consider booking early. Her love for braiding traditional elements with alternative music are found in her work with folk metal group Protokult and Russian folk-rock band Katüsha. There will be a teakettle and a selection of herbal teas available to keep our voices warmed up. We will take a short break half way through the workshop. For the collective health of all involved, we ask that you not attend if you feel sick. Should you need to cancel due to illness, please be in touch with us before the start of the workshop so we can issue a refund. Masks are welcome. - Our sliding scale pricing is made possible by the generosity of those who can contribute a little more to keep community singing afloat.
