In 2024 the Scarlet Quill Society will be focusing on getting you through that next step: publication. Whether you’re aiming for a place in an anthology, a traditional publisher for your longform work, or self-publishing on your own or through a service, our posts and panels will be there to help you spot scams and fill in the missing pieces to get your work into the places you want it. Our first meeting covers a topic that confuses and confounds many a writer: copyright. Who needs it and how do you get it? The short answer is that you already hold the copyright to your work, but we'll go into what that means, as well as why it's important and where to go to get actual legal information if you need it. Don't forget to read January's post, which dropped on January 1. You can read it here: yeahwrite.me/2024-january To participate in future live meetings, please sign up for a Pen membership, or sign up for live sessions as you go ($5 per session). Pen members will also have access to the private Scarlet Quill Society channel on Discord.
