We are excited to release our second-edition Programmer unit, featuring a new processor recommended by Downtown Doug Brown that can flash ROM SIMMs up to twice as fast. Just like the first-edition programmer, this V2 model will flash ROM SIMMs for use in the following Mac models: Macintosh SE/30, IIx, IIcx, IIsi, IIci, and IIfx. The V2 Programmer is compatible with Macintosh 64-pin ROM SIMMs sold by any vendor, including the CayMac Vintage 2 MB, 4 MB and 8 MB ROM SIMMs (sold separately), as well as the ROM-inator II from BMOW, GGLabs, and others. Create a bootable disk image with your favorite software, and the V2 Programmer will let you flash that to a ROM SIMM, along with the required base ROM file. CayMac Vintage is licensed by BMOW, which means you can freely download their base ROM file at the bottom of their webpage here (please do NOT use the BMOW ROM file on SIMMs other than CayMac Vintage or BMOW): www.bigmessowires.com/mac-rom-inator-ii-programming The V2 Programmer also lets you replace a lost or damaged ROM SIMM too. Simply download a stock ROM from the Macintosh Garden and flash that to a ROM SIMM of any size (CayMac 2MB ROM SIMM recommended): macintoshgarden.org/apps/macintosh-rom-archive The Programmer does include a USB cable.
