An UNsigned copy of my brand new book "The Willing Fool - The Spectacle of The Wicker Man", a study of one of my favourite films, and the first in a new series from CinePunked. Purchasing directly ensures a little extra support to me as creator, rather than Amazon! The book is available in both paperback and a library/collector edition hardback. The content is identical in both. With the unsigned copies, turnover is as fast as the distributors handle. Orders will be processed within 48 hours (often faster). Copies should ship within 10 days of ordering, but owing to occasional shipping delays with stock, please allow up to 28 days for dispatch. This may vary depending where you order from! (There are delays with the hardback orders owing to Brexit and printer issues, please be patient. These will be shipped as soon as they are available. Please note that hardback orders received after 25 Nov 2021 are unlikely to ship before January 2022. This is entirely beyond my control). I sometimes recycle my packaging for environmental reasons, please do the same if you can! Postage price is free to UK and kept to a minimum elsewhere. Unfortunately as of 3 Nov 2021 I have had to increase postage charges owing to the actual costs incurred. Please note, they are considerably less than for a signed copy. If you want a signed copy, they are available via ko-fi.com/s/102d3988ca If you have issues ordering, drop me a message. ABOUT THE BOOK Robin Hardy’s The Wicker Man is one of the most beloved of 1970s British horror films. Bold, transgressive, iconic. Its cult status has grown with each passing season. In this monograph, the first in a series from CinePunked, film historian Robert JE Simpson explores the pagan rituals and spectacle, and the act of watching that is central to an understanding of the film itself. The book explores not just The Wicker Man, but the franchise built up around the iconic brand, notably Neil LaBute’s 2006 remake, and Robin Hardy’s own sequel The Wicker Tree. Also included is a transcript of a conversation between the author and Hardy, and a critical discussion of Hardy’s often-overlooked 1986 film The Fantasist, which deals with similar themes. It's time to keep your appointment with The Wicker Man... RETURNS No returns are offered on items sold directly from this store.
