This triangular shawl is knitted sideways. It is asymmetrical as the starting tip is narrower & longer than the ending tip. It has a slightly flared ending edge compared to the shawlette version. If you know how to knit & purl, increase & decrease stitches, you can knit this. The Gathering Stitch pattern is alternating between ‘gathered’ Stockinette & plain Garter Stitch sections. The Gathering effect is created by 1 increase row at the beginning & 1 decrease row at the end of the Stockinette sections. The stockinette sections on this shawl are 20 rows tall. The overall size of your shawl will depend on the yarn weight & needle size you’ll use, as well as on the length you’ll want to knit. My sample shawl was knit with a “long colour-changing” yarn & 5,5 mm needles. It measures 170cm x 80cm. Yarn used: Handarbeitsgarn Nellie by Gemacht mit Liebe (100% Acrylic), 2 cakes of 150g / 390m or a total of approx. 650 m. Substitute: A very nice alternative would be "King Cole Riot DK" available in many lovely shades on LoveCrafts.com -> www.lovecrafts.com/de-de/p/king-cole-riot-dk Happy knitting :)
