With a heavy heart, I must cancel my next three cons and temporarily close my Etsy shop due to a close family member's death. As these conventions and online store sales are my primary source of income, I am opening up a Ko-fi page to get financial support. I would greatly appreciate any financial help as I need to repay my family for last-minute flight tickets which were incredibly costly, airport parking for the car I had to leave behind, money for a return flight home after the mourning process is over, and money for funeral costs… To see what I’ve been going through and why I set up a donation page, please read further. I received the news of my father’s passing around noon on Sunday during Momocon. I had to temporarily close my shop so I could cry behind my table. For safety reasons, I wasn’t able to break down my table until 5pm. Even if I could have, I wouldn’t have been able to transport my setup and table inventory as my car was back at my Airbnb. I was fortunate to have kind table neighbors, con roommates, and highly supportive family members to help me during this time. Otherwise, I would've missed my flight back home if not for my fellow friends and artists who helped me pack as fast as possible. I was originally going to attempt to make the 12-hour drive from Atlanta to Houston so I could get my passport to leave the country in time for my father’s funeral. My cousin stepped up and immediately booked flights to Houston and a one-way ticket to Vietnam. She also booked airport parking so I could leave my car safely behind. I would like to make sure I can pay her back as she still continues to support me even now. My family has been handling the funeral costs as well as putting out money to make sure I am fed and taken care of while I’m in Vietnam. If possible, I would like to raise funds to make sure I can pay them back as well.
