Initially I started this Ko-fi, separate from a writing one I have, to offer some online fitness stuff during the pandemic, when I hoped that would be a temporary thing. It was to augment in-person training I did locally. But as the pandemic wore on, even past when people want to pretend it's over, while I as a high-risk person could not afford to play make believe, I decided in-person training was not going to happen and I wasn't too sure I wanted to do online. Especially since this summer when all our efforts to avoid COVID-19 were thwarted, as my husband does work retail and no one else is masking or keeping distance. We then got it a second time and this time I am not recovering. Okay, I'm ...slightly better. Not really. I am working out again but it's very limited. This is frustrating, as, for the past 30 years, I have had CFIDS but had finally found how to navigate the exertion malaise from that. It took a lot of work and balancing my mental desire with what my body could do. Now, now I'm even more limited. But I still long for the sort of hardcore tactical training my brain feeds best off of. So, I decided to open this back up, as a "survivalist style fitness for those who feel they are barely surviving." Because, frankly, no one knows survival better than we do. And, frankly, most "survivalist" fitness stuff is bogus and not very good for survival. It's overtraining even for the most able bodied person. It's too little body fat to be healthy let alone survive adverse conditions. It's fighting the body that you need to have on your side. It's an egotistical combination of aesthetic and ascetic training, to look "tough" and "show you are tough" without actual, well, toughness. So this ain't that. (more soon)
