Disclaimer : I will not be renting out game servers. Hi everyone ! Let me tell you this all ! I am an IT student who wants to do IT stuff and I have decided to start a long term project : making my own network infrastructure ! Now, that certainly won't be an easy task but I have learned a fair amount of things on my own for a while now and already tried my hand at this with a public Minecraft server, successfully so before attending my apprenticeship's classes. So I decided to be more ambitious ! Do it all again, bigger and better, with more room for people ! So I set a list of things I'd like to achieve within the duration of my degree : - Host a decent cluster of game servers for people to freely access (list of games to be hosted in documentation - see links at the bottom) - Train myself in a several kind of things relative to IT with side projects - Run applications like AI engines or community calculation software - Offer free/very cheap hosting slots to Indie devs for them to run multiplayer games in support to game development - Maybe do the same with student AI developers and/or host a couple websites too To do this, I have recently acquired a capable starting platform with room for upgrades in the future ! As the project goes, I am hoping that the people reading this will find themselves interested enough in this endeavor to support the purchase of upgrades !
