Undertale Accessibility

Undertale is a game about choices, mercy, and most importantly, determination. So, it’s a shame that some of the most determined people among us don’t have the ability to experience the game. Undertale isn’t very accessible for people with disabilities. The 16-bit style music irritates some people. All of the game’s dialogue is typed out on screen, making it difficult for people with reading disabilities to play. The controls also aren’t accessible for people with movement disorders. That’s why the Undertale Accessibility Project was created. We are working to address many of these problems. For example, the original music is getting replaced with orchestral covers, all dialogue is being voice acted, and we have a control system that uses only one finger. Some major scenes are even being animated to make them more understandable to audiences. We have permission from the Undertale team to make this project as a whole, as well as permission from some online animators to use their animations and styles. However, animation is expensive. We are working with volunteer animators right now, but it would be nice to outsource animation for later on in the project. Our goal is to make the story and adventure of Undertale accessible to people with various disabilities. Its story is one that everyone should be able to experience, and we’re determined to make this dream a reality. The Undertale Accessibility Project is volunteer based. No money is being made off of this project.
