I'm an artist above all; my mediums of choice are wide and virtually limitless in range. From paints, to words, to digital, to earth, to people, and so on, I navigate this world through the lens of a creative and neurodivergent mind, one marked by the experiences of being in a feminine vessel, being a Korean girl born in America, having deep strife with mental health and shame, all summed up by the search for identity while feeling alien and unseen, misunderstood and looked over, weak and out-of-place. Perhaps you feel the same way. Despite these daily, mind-smoking, wonderland feelings, I know that my God has greater plans and purposes for me. Without having faced these challenges, I may not be passionate about these things today: looking out for the underdogs, showing care and compassion to the mentally ill and different, finding joy in nature's beauty, and advocacy for self-care. God is good, despite the hardship, maybe even because of it. Can the mighty redwood seeds ever break out of their cones, without first getting baptized with fire? I'm here to encourage you and your faith in the word of God, inspired by my own ongoing experiences from living life with Him. May we focus on the beauty of wildflowers and trust in God's provision (Matthew 6:30). May we lose ourselves in the wildflowers and be dazed when we find God (Psalms 46:10). And may we gain wise perspective on our lives and be inspired by the paralleled ephemerality of the wildflowers (Psalm 103:15). My name is Susie, by the way!
